Portugal offers diverse cycling terrain, from the coastal routes of the Algarve to the rolling hills of the interior. The country's mild Mediterranean climate provides year-round cycling opportunities, with particularly pleasant conditions during spring and autumn.

The Algarve region is known for its challenging mountain climbs, such as the Fóia ascent in the Serra de Monchique, as well as scenic coastal roads. Portugal's mild winters also make it a good option for cycling during the colder months when much of Europe is less suitable for riding.
